Anonymous asked: I'm glad you posted about the disturbing thinspiration blogs because it gives more people a chance to reach out to the poor souls who run them. But it sort of bothered me that it was tagged "female hating" and "eating disorders" side by side. I'm like 99.9% sure you meant nothing by it, but as a feminist with an eating disorder I can't help but get really defensive when I see something that might suggest that ED's are only spawned from misogyny. I guess my point is there's nothing anti-feminist about HAVING an eating disorder; the problem is when people try to inflict eating disorders on other people, which is presumably what thinspo blogs do.
Anyway, you hopefully already know all this and I'm just blabbering away...
It was tagged originally with female body hate, then female hate I’m guessing because I was just tagging and pressed enter. I do however consider it female body hate- and I do consider female body hate to be driven almost entirely by misogyny. And all the societal pressures for females to look/be a certain way.
Like I said just my opinion. This was posted quite some time ago- so I don’t recall my exact goings on when I was tagging ect. But I can tell you it was during a period of time when on the daily I was getting just too pissed off at all the woman hate by young people all over tumblr. Which is why I don’t really come on tumblr much anymores.
Thanks for your comment tho. :)
